Penn State Football: White Out Game Set for Primetime Matchup Against Iowa

The Sept. 23 game between Penn State and Iowa at Beaver Stadium will kick off at 8 p.m. and will air on CBS, the Nittany Lion program and the network announced on Monday. The meeting with the Hawkeyes will feature Penn State’s annual White Out.

It is the second known nighttime kick of Penn State’s season so far, with the Nittany Lions set to open the year on Sept. 2 at Beaver Stadium against West Virginia at 7:30 p.m. on NBC. That game will feature the “helmet stripe” stadium layout, with the majority of Beaver Stadium wearing white while a select amount of sections on the east and west sides of the stadium will wear blue.

The game against Iowa marks the 27th time in program history the Nittany Lions have been on CBS and the first time in Beaver Stadium since Sept. 19, 1998, a 20-13 victory over Pittsburgh. The Nittany Lions are 16-10 all-time when playing on CBS, including 4-1 in bowl games.

No other kick times have been announced for Penn State’s upcoming season, including a home contest against Michigan and clashes against Indiana and Rutgers within the friendly confines of Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions head on the road to face Ohio State and Michigan State this season.
